First: Sorry I missed this suggestion till now

I'm not sure what you mean by >>a category of projects

Please note that you can color code your projects - so they can
be grouped visually

Or you could adjust the project names eg "Accounts - things to
do" / Accounts - Money owed" so they could all be sorted together
in your dashboard (by clciking on the "Projects" column header.

If that's not what you mean can you detail a bit more about how
you would want these categories to behave. ie how would you want to
see them in the dashboard

thanks ed

edtag:dooster.tenderapp.com,2011-05-09:Comment/108508102011-10-28T16:08:29Z2011-10-28T16:08:29ZProject Category or Categories

Thanks.

The categories would be able to be grouped so that a person
could click on Accounting, and thereby see all the accounting
projects, or Software development and see all those projects. This
is very necessary from a corporate executive level project
management point of view.

I would envision this being visible in the dashboard, and the
projects could be grouped by category. Mostly because, if I am
dealing with the I.T. or software implementation manager, I need to
be able to see what projects he is doing and review it
categorically so that none of the projects gets lost in my big
developing list.

Right now you have something called task list, but that doesn't
help for categorizing projects. Also if I look at one task list,
under there is only "General" by default. However, even there, I
can't add a way to create a global list item instead of just an
individual list item in addition to "General".

I realize you suggested creating a Project called "Accounts -
Things to do" and so on, however, I believe that larger companies
won't take on your software if something like this isn't done. Some
of the companies I have seen, will make the projects look like file
folders, and I think that is fine as well. Most people are familiar
with that, and it makes easy sense. Then a person could have a
Project Category, and a sub project category and so on and each
project they create could be created where ever needed in the
organizational structure of the company.

Currrently I manage my projects in folders, but there is no
additional way to add accountability and tasks, and managae the
budget and completion of tasks as you have done.

I trust this helps.
