Set task completion dates to a specific date, not by checking completed box

Is there a way already (and if not, can there be one) to SET the completed date to a specific date instead of it automatically being set to whenever the checkbox was checked?

I have tasks in projects that I'm building that are already done and I need to capture WHEN they were done for real, not just when I happened to check the checkbox now that I have the projects set up in Dooster. This will happen in the future when I have someone tell me when they did something instead of doing it in the system themselves (some allowances have to be made sometimes).

Please help.
Thanks,
Tavie.

    Thank you Tavie

OK I see what you mean now.

We won't be able to do that - unless you want to pay for it as a customized solution. If so let me know and we will give you a quote.

I suggest a workaround would be to use tags eg "Completed on X/y/z date. You would be able to see all the same tagged tasks on one screen.

Also I see from the ref numbers on your tasks that you might want to use the ticket numbers feature?

    Thanks John

OK, thanks for the info. It seemed that the tick numbers, once enabled, were auto-assigned and not changeable by me? Is that the case? If so, I needed numbers that I could change so I could force a sort order inside each task list and force a sort order of the tasks lists within the project. Is there a better way to do that? Thanks!
