Mindmap problem - not sure if bug as not enough info in knowledge base to tell

Child-parent dependency relationships are only showing for one level - should this be so?

eg. simple example, not the actual structure in my Porject

In Project Manager:

Task A has subtasks 1, 2, 3

2 is set as parent of 3

In the Mindmap:

All Task A subtasks ( 1, 2, and 3) are all represented as first level children of Task A.

Task A

-> Subtask 1

-> Subtask 2

-> Subtask 3

I expected to see in the Mindmap:

Chlld-parent dependency links like:

Task A

-> Subtask 1

-> Subtask 3 -> Subtask 2

ie. tasks are completed from the periphery working inwards so that they can be collapsed when completed to view the pathway of uncompleted tasks in a dependency relationship.

When I returned to the Project Manager to see whether I had made a mistake, I hadn't but he Mindmap tab and functionality had been turned off.

I turned it on again and went back to the Mindmap and it was still the same, with lower-level parent-child relationships ignored.

Would be grateful for your advice.

I hope that this is a bug and can be sorted as I was rather depending on the Mindmap reflecting the dependency relationships in the Project.

I cannot work out how to move Mindmap nodes to create a visual structure that matches the dependency structure. I only seem to be able to create new "children" - but this seems to be in the wrong direction in terms of reflecting project dependencies.

Part of the problem describing this is that "parent-child" relationship terminology is used differently in Project Planning and Mindmapping.

Even so, there do seem to be at least two problems here:

Cannot change node relationships in Mindmap view

Is it possible to copy and paste from an existing node to a new node in order to create the desired relationship?

Just opening Mindmap view is enough to erase the dependency relationships that were set up in Project Tasks view.

Did nothing to the Mindmap - just opened that view and then went back to the Project Task view and the dependency relationships had disappeared again

If these are bugs, happy to report them as such.

Happier to see them fixed :-)

Best wishes,
Liz
