Hello,
I just have signed up for Dooster and learning myself into this interesting tool.

One thing which I am wondering about is the performance of Dooster.
I find it quite slow.
Is there a performance boost to expect when changing to the paid subscriptions ?

thx
Frank

First: I am sorry that my response from my mobile yesterday didnt arrive)

    here's what I asked

How is your general connection speed? eg what speed do other websites show for you eg well known ones like google etc

Is there any feature / action which seems slower than others ?

    Thanks

Frank when I first started using it I also found some parts a bit slow. But this is because it is so powerful and I assume there is a lot of processing that goes on behind the scenes. Even so it is quicker than the downloaded tool we used to use. And the occassional wait is worth it (my maximum waits are 4 or 5 seconds. Most actions are 2 seconds which for me is fine

I just wanted to defend this app.

    Hi Mike,
    Thx for the positive feedback.
I assume Dooster is powerful, however (I am a programmer myself) I find that SaaS applications should be able to run smoothly, which is possible by SQL and/or hardware optimization.
Let's wait for John's reply and see what 2012 will bring :-)

    thx

    Hi Frank

hmm there's obviously something wrong with tenderapp. I'll let them know

anyway re speed: please rest assured that we are working on it. In fact we just took on a specialist who started looking at it last week.

It seems as the app becomes more popular it is affecting the database performance.

But on our accounts it doesnt seem too bad. Perhaps we're biased - like Mike (Oh thank you for your kind comments Mike)

sure there are some things like create a project which take longer than you'd expect - and we'll be fixing that

But compared to - for example - facebook, it's not too bad in general.

    would you agree?

    Thanks

    John

    Hi John,
thanx for your explanation, it is appreciated.
Despite I'm still testing and not a customer yet I appreciate your efforts; other users will be positively affected as well.
FYI: performance issues also will occur when you host your website and applications in the USA. Therefore I have moved all my websites to a EU hoster, performance has increased a lot.

    thx

Sorry Johns been ill all day

    Appreciate that advice.

re >>performance issues also will occur when you host your website and

Do you mean that speed in Europe increased when you moved the servers closer?

In our experience, while its supposed to be at the speed of light in
fact it adds1 second or so if you host across the Atlantic

or do you mean that you found general issues w USA hosting? If so any
    details on what they were?

In any case we are determined to solve any speed / performance issues

    Thanks ed

    Hello !
It seems something has changed because performance has increased !
Dooster is workable now with 'normal' loading times.

    cheers

Hmm well nothing changed at our end

We have had some changes which will improve speed that have been
waiting to go live for a couple of weeks - they're being tested
carefully. But nothing we've done thats gone live today..

Maybe it was Santa Claus ;-))

Seriosuly though: this might explain the difference in our viewpoints
yesterday. ie you saying it was noticeably slow wheras we were saying
... hmmm yeh... some parts are slower than ideal... but generally we
    think its OK.

so hopefully its something local to you?

anyway thanks for letting us know ;-)

ans please do stay in contact if it gets worse

    best wishes

    Hi Ed,

Okay I will have a close look on this the next days.
anyhow, maybe you should consider moving from the US to Europe, this will definitely increase speed !

    cheers,

I just discover Dooster today and signed up for a free trial. I REALLY like the system and performance is SLOW! It takes several seconds to load a page where as other task management systems I've tried today are much more responsive.

I truly like the approach, style and features of Dooster.... and the slow response could be a real issue. I'm wanting to improve my efficiencies and I'm afraid to lose time waiting for pages to load.

I see you hired someone in December to look at the issues... can you give me an ETA on improvements? Is the performance worse b/c I am in the US?

    Thank you!
    Joanna

    Hi Frank

Nice to hear from you again

Yes we have done a lot of work on performance / speed and rolled it out yesterday

There's still some more work to do. But yes it seems to have made a big difference to speed

If anyone else is seeing an improvement - or having issues - please let us know

    best wishes
