Some Tasks Not Showing on Google Calendar
Hi Dooster Team -
I noticed this issue related to tasks not showing on the Google calendar a few days ago, but we were hoping it would resolve itself if we allowed more time -- that didn't happen so we are reporting the problem here to see if you know what is going on.
We created lots of tasks (around 900 tasks) about a week ago in Dooster, and had Dooster integrated with Google. We noticed right away some tasks appear in Googe but some don't, even though we had all of them set up to "SHOW ON CALENDAR" in Dooster. All these tasks were set up pretty much the same way in Dooster (these are not GOOGLE TASKS. We do not create tasks in GOOGLE) -- some via the button "Add A Task" and some via Cloning a Project or Cloning a Task; some are recurring and some are not.
We noticed in some other threads in the Dooster tech support blog mentioning that Google has a "daily limit" on how many events/tasks get sync'd, so we thought perhaps we have hit the limit daily limit and so needed to wait for days before the rest of the tasks will show on the Google calendar. However, it has been a week already and those tasks are still MIA and not on the Google calendar. In the meantime, we create some other new tasks in Dooster today and yesterday and they are already shown on the Google calendar within 10 or 15 minutes from the time of creation -- while those tasks created a week ago are still missing in the Google calendar.
Strangely, after taking a closer look, we see that for some of those tasks that are missing in a user's Google calendar, they are already showing up in another user's GOOGLE CALENDAR, even though both users have the same permissions to that task / task list / project. To illustrate this, I have attached an image for your reference. This is what we see on one particular project we call "PTH" in Dooster. See the bottom part of that image -- those are the tasks in PTH we see in the Dooster calendar (we have 4 tasks on each day of FEB 15, FEB 20, and FEB 28 -- 3 different days). In our user ANYA, you can see that (top part of the image) she has the FEB 15 and FEB 20 tasks (but just 1 task for each day) for PTH in GOOLE, and tasks on FEB 28 are also missing. In another user MIRANDA (me), you see that only 1 task on FEB 15 is in GOOGLE, and all other tasks are still missing. All these tasks in the PTH project were created on 02-07-21 in Dooster (i.e. 6 days ago). Strangely, MIRANDA was the creator of all these PTH tasks, so it is strange that ANYA sees more of them than MIRANDA.
Any idea?
Thanks,
Miranda

Hi Miranda
I think the problem here might be that you setup some of these tasks while google sync was officially not working - they were testing it / setting it up.
It only went back online a couple of days ago
(The delay in tasks showing is expected - but it does sound much longer than usual).
I suggest you let things "bed down"
Maybe setup a new project with new users and see what happens
Sorry but that's all I can suggest for now

Hi Sue -
Just want to report the latest observations and see if your guys can check on something.
See the attached -- we are looking at the Google calendars of 3 users of ours MIRANDA, IVANA and ANYA -- on the same PROJECT in Dooster. All tasks were created about 5 hours ago, and as you can see, the users' calendars still vary after 5 hours in terms what what tasks are showing, with MIRANDA seeing the most tasks (but MIRANDA is still missing some tasks too in this RPOJECT in Google).
I am wondering if your guys can check if Dooster / Google is running into any of these API limits -- I am not a developer by any means of course, but it looks like there is more behind thiis problem than the DAILY limit that we may be dealing with? Are your guys seeing any kind of error messages at the back end?

Thanks,
