<p>Thanks for that, we have now tried to deactivate the sync with
Google<br>
calendars.</p>
<p>Also, we have 2 users which we need to remove from the system as
we have 2<br>
new team members who need to be added. We've used the various
search<br>
options in Dooster Help to try and work out how to do this but
we've been<br>
unsuccessful - can you shed any light on this for us? The 2 names
to be<br>
removed are Abigail and Amanjeet.</p>

that.</p>
<p>We are just finding that tasks have disappeared as the recurring
is taken<br>
out automatically - it's happened too many times to be human error
as we're<br>
all constantly checking that we're clicking on the right buttons so
that we<br>
don't mess the tasks up! Some tasks which were on the dashboard on
Tuesday<br>
were not in there yesterday, even though they hadn't been marked
as<br>
complete nor had anything else been changed within the task.</p>
<p>Luckily we have a manual spreadsheet which we can use to cross
reference<br>
with Dooster, but it does seem that a handful of tasks which are
due to<br>
recur each month have to be manually reinstated on a weekly
basis.</p>
<p>Thanks,</p>

<p>Ok, what you sent earlier is actually a third issue - the one
we've already<br>
covered above in the thread. If you're seeing "Google Tasks"<br>
it's because you're importing tasks from Google that don't exist
in<br>
Dooster - or as a result of the known time sync bug in the Google
API.</p>
<p>It's worth noting though that Google Sync cannot be
automatically<br>
re-enabled, someone must have re-enabled it or it wasn't
properly<br>
disabled the first time. It can be any user on your account that
has<br>
the sync enabled, so you need to check that all users are
disabled,<br>
log out, log back in and check it's still disabled.</p>
<p>Please do that and confirm if the problem persists after 24
hours</p>
<p>thanks</p>
<p>PS still looking at the recurring tasks issue</p></div>edtag:dooster.tenderapp.com,2011-05-09:Comment/367835542015-05-14T13:59:39Z2015-05-14T13:59:39ZRogue Tasks<div><p>Hi again</p>
<p>re > tasks have disappeared as the recurring is taken<br>
out automatically</p>
<p>Can you confirm that the problem is that after a certain amount
of recurrences, the task stops recurring on it's own?</p>
<p>Can you give a couple of specific examples of a task where this
has happened?</p>
<p>thanks</p></div>edtag:dooster.tenderapp.com,2011-05-09:Comment/367835542015-05-14T14:25:28Z2015-05-14T14:25:28ZRogue Tasks<div><p>The tasks stop recurring on their own - some of these tasks have
been in<br>
operation for a couple of years, so quite why they're having
problems now<br>
I don't know!</p>
<p>These are tasks which should recur for next week, however for
some reason<br>
the recurring has been removed from them:</p>
<p>Locum Select<br>
Resolve Physiotherapy<br>
Advanced Appearance/Pink Hair Solutions (not the social campaign,
these are<br>
all in the Monthly SEO Campaign projects)</p>
<p>I just want to reiterate that the recurring hasn't been removed
from the<br>
tasks by our team - there are only 4 of us who use the system and
we are<br>
all well aware of how to create new tasks so that they recur, plus
how to<br>
mark them as complete for that month but so they will still appear
on the<br>
relevant date next month.</p>
<p>Thanks</p>

<p>Apologies for the delay but this has taken a lot of work.</p>
<p>One of our devs has been looking at both of the reported issues
for several days but as of yesterday has been completely unable to
recreate either of them.</p>
<p>To save yourself the read; Can you confirm if the issue is still
present or any further instances have happened since you reported
the bug, and if not can you report it if it happens again?</p>
<p>Here's what he reported:</p>
<p>Regarding the first issue - it is an account sharing problem but
there's already code in place to handle this. It looks as though
when I did the recurring changes some time ago I put code
specifically in place so that the recurring record is held by the
'master' task record (typically the one that was originally
created) and that all shared instances simply pull and save to that
info. In all of our tests it's working, and I've even put together
an automated test that absolutely hammers it (it creates 5 dummy
accounts, shares a project between each of them, then tests various
recurring edits) and it hasn't failed once.</p>
<p>The only conclusions I've been able to draw were that:</p>
<p>1 - The task had somehow managed to pick up it's own dummy
recurring record<br>
2 - The project was a share of a share and somehow replicated the
task as a nested replication (e.g. task is a copy of a copy)<br>
3 - The form data being presented was incorrect (e.g. the browser
was loading a cached version of the form)</p>
<p>After analysis on the live data, I decided that option 1 was the
most likely. Option 2 is impossible (there isn't a single instance
of this on that account), Option 3 is technically possible (we've
had it before) but there's nothing we can do about it. Therefore
I've concentrated on Option 1 being the possibility and have
slightly reworked the recurring record retrieval mechanism so that
if the task is a replica it will always return the recurring info
from the master if it's available.</p>
<p>Fix was deployed a short while ago - let me know if the issue is
still present (although we will be pretty much back to the drawing
board if it is .. so I hope not!)</p>

<p>Re the recurring tasks stopping after a while (part 2 of this
bug), I'm sorry but I'm at a loss to recreating this. We have an
automated test which recurs a series of test tasks over and over,
and it does so without fail. The mechanism itself is sound.</p>
<p>It's probably worth noting though that there are a couple of
conditions that can cause a task not to recur properly, these
are:</p>
<p>1 - If the task has no due date set, it can have problems
(although it will try to use the current date in place of this)<br>
2 - If the celery or cron process executing the recur is terminated
early (this has not presented itself in tests, but is a slim
possibility in a live environment)</p>
<p>We've pretty much ruled out everything else so far.</p>
<p>Without being able to recreate the issue I'm afraid it's hunting
a needle in a haystack. I'm aware the user has specifically stated
that it can't be human error, but so far we've found no evidence
that it can be anything else outside of the two possibilities
above.</p>
<p>@Claire Can you confirm if the issue is still present or any
further instances have happened since you reported the bug, and if
not can you report it if it happens again?</p>
<p>Many thanks<br>
